Simchat Torah–Rejoicing in the Torah!


Simchat Torah, Sundown October 24 this year (October 23 in Israel), celebrates the renewal of the weekly reading cycle immediately after Sukkot. On Simchat Torah, we read the conclusion of Deuteronomy, the story of the death of Moses, and then immediately continue on with the account of creation in Genesis 1. Every ending brings a new beginning, and this is especially true of our study of Scripture.

This Train is Bound for Glory!


I was thinking about the Feast of Tabernacles when I booked my train ticket to London and was rather tickled by the Virgin Trains slogan ‘Be bound for glory’, obviously based on the traditional gospel hit This Train. Israel Relief Aid Update - Sukkot Aid Container



A wonderful Succot aid container from Holland has been set for unloading on Friday, mid-Succot! This container will stop first at a immigrant poverty-level aid center to give apartment furniture and clothing in Ashdod.
