As of Aug 1, the local Sderot Aid Center sees no letup of the war, or the needs associated with it.
With the uncertainty of what is brewing in the north and the continuing dismantling of Hamas in Gaza, in Sderot’s backyard, there is no rest for this aid center.
All the while they are still trying to deal with the aftermath of Hamas and their atrocities against Israel and humanity.
This aid center just received a shipment from Israel Relief Aid of canned and dried goods and we will update you with the distribution pictures forthcoming.
Along with the food bags, they also distribute fresh baked goods. The local bakery calls them every night just before closing to come and pick up all those sweet and salty pastries along with bread and fresh rolls. On Fridays, they make one last delivery just before the Shabbat candles are lit.
Thank you to all that made this shipment possible!
For some soldiers, they have spent sixty to ninety days in Gaza since Hamas committed the October 7 atrocities without a decent home-cooked meal.
So, when they are asked if they could cook for a unit, anywhere from 15 to 50 soldiers, they don’t hesitate to put on their cook’s aprons and baking aprons (if funds are available).
They have seen the empty cans of tuna fish the soldiers eat, so to provide them with a hot, home cooked meal -- it takes a meal to a whole new level for them.
