Forgive and Forget

This year Israel Relief Aid wanted to do an event for Rosh Hashana that would benefit Holocaust Survivors, but are also always thinking about the new immigrants that continue to trek into their new homeland.

Simchat Torah–Rejoicing in the Torah!

Simchat Torah, Sundown October 24 this year (October 23 in Israel), celebrates the renewal of the weekly reading cycle immediately after Sukkot. Sukkot Manna Project

Sukkot  (Feast of Tabernacles) is Oct 17-23, 2016 and it commemorates the forty years of wandering of the people of Israel in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt ... and how Adonai miraculously provided for us.  He gave us manna to sustain us - thus the name of our Sukkot outreach this year -  Sukkot Manna Project.

Jonah and the Wrong Sukkah

Yom Kippur can be a long day, so it’s a welcome change of pace when we turn to the Book of Jonah in the afternoon. It’s a lively story with lots of fascinating connections to Yom Kippur.

G'mar Chatima Tova!

Today we'll be observing Yom Kippur. We'll be back at sundown. G'mar Chatima Tova! May you be inscribed for good (in the Book of Life).

Making a Difference Together

Last Sunday I was reading a newsletter from an aid center that Israel Relief Aid had just stocked with incontinence supplies for Holocaust Survivors in Sderot, explaining about the hard life there with unpredictable bombings. A few hours later, again Sderot was bombed!
