Around 7 out of every 10 Holocaust Survivors in Israel indicate that they are disturbed or quite concerned about their economic future - an increase of 7% compared to a year earlier, according to the report of  the Holocaust Survivors Foundation, 2015.    There are almost 200,000 Survivors living in Israel today.  Most of the Survivors (73%) reported that they suffer from health problems.

This is a “leap year” for Israel’s lunar calendar. The Jewish leap year, which occurs seven times in a 19-year cycle, has 13 months instead of the regular year’s 12. This is so that the lunar-based Jewish year can remain aligned with the solar seasons (12 lunar months make up a total of 354 days—slightly more than 11 days short of the 365.25 day solar cycle).

Four aid stations in northern Israel with low stock were grateful to receive each ¼ of a large shipping container of clothing and bedding last week, specifically for new immigrants, the disabled, single parent families and disadvantaged families.

Israel’s Channel 2 News reported this week that elders and other adults in many Palestinian villages are desperate to keep the younger generations from participating in the current wave of terrorism against Israelis. This is due to the fact that villages from which terrorists originate suffer severe economic impact due to their violent activities. Read more
