Shavuot: Feast of Weeks

  Shavuot (Feast of Weeks) is a major Israeli holiday that begins this year at dusk 6/4 and ends dusk 6/5. It was originally a harvest festival, but now also commemorates the giving of the Law (Torah: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy)7 weeks after the exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt.
