We know that God has set times to accomplish His purposes, for the Bible tells us “there is an appointed time for everything” (Eccl. 3:1). We saw it with Israel’s 40 years in the wilderness, in their 70-year incarceration in Babylon and more recently her return to the land after a 2000-year Roman exile. Once His purposes are accomplished, and the lessons learned, He moves on to the next phase of His plan to redeem, not only Israel, but the whole world.   Read more...

Over the past year, Israel Relief Aid has brought 10 containers (about 90,000 kilograms) of humanitarian aid to Israelis in need.  The on-the-street value of these goods, if purchased in Israeli stores, would be around $1 million.

A distribution operation will take place, most likely, by the end of this week by Israel Relief Aid, with two large shipping containers that are currently in the clearance process here in Israel.

Passover is the classic Jewish celebration: “Our enemies tried to kill us; God delivered us; let’s eat.” Shavuot not so much. It’s traditionally known as Zeman matan Toratenu —the season of the giving of our Torah—and at the giving of Torah the universal purpose of God’s particular rescue of Israel takes center stage. On Shavuot, the Lord tells Israel:

Rabbi Ze’ira said: This scroll [of Ruth] tells us nothing either of cleanliness or of uncleanliness, either of prohibition or permission. For what purpose then was it written? To teach how great is the reward of those who do deeds of kindness [Gemilut Hasadim]. Midrash Rabbah, Ruth 2.14

The CNN headlines reported on the terror attack and remarked that Two "terrorists" were arrested. The tabloid resorted to referring to the perpetrators of the attack as "terrorists" in inverted commas. The fact that, at the time of reporting, 3 people had been murdered in the attack was relegated to small print below one of the photographs. Read more...

Jerusalem Day is being celebrated across Israel on Sunday, marking 49 years since the capital's reunification in the Six-Day War. Memorial services will be held during the day for fallen soldiers of the six-day war.  Read more...
