A distribution operation will take place, most likely, by the end of this week by Israel Relief Aid, with two large shipping containers that are currently in the clearance process here in Israel.
The Ashdod Aid Center has requested a half-container of clothing as well as over 10 sofas for new Ukrainian immigrants. This aid center is busy all week long with “Olim Hadashim” from the former Soviet Union, mostly. Most of them did not bring enough clothing in their suitcases, and certainly not for the stages of their growing children. In many cases, coming from Ukraine was a struggle, after having lost their home, paperwork and everything dear to them.
After Ashdod, the containers will stop at two orphanages (youth villages) for children of all ages who do not have the care of parents (could be due to death/disability/poverty, etc.). One of these villages, near Ashdod, will unload furniture for replacing dilapidated room contents, as it was originally built in the 1950’s. We will be supplying beds, tables, chairs, sofas and cabinets for the dorm rooms.
Sofas will also be unloaded at an Orthodox youth center. The remaining half-container of clothing will be distributed to the small aid centers in the country from our new storage site location near Ben Gurion airport.
