Why Are There So Many Aid Centers in Haifa?
The December 2016 National Insurance Institute of Israel's annual poverty report shows a rise in the number of poor families in Israel. In its annual report, the National Council for the Welfare of Children said that Israel’s 18-and-under population was 2,768,700 and that 1/3 of them were poor.
About 34% of children live in families with incomes at or below the poverty line, and this is the situation in large parts of downtown Haifa, in northern Israel, where people in poverty are living in appalling conditions.
That is why so many of Israel Relief Aid’s container drop-loads always make a stop in Haifa, often disseminating from one point to several aid centers using different methods of transportation.
The Downtown Haifa aid center shown above uses a trailer to take boxes from the drop-off point to stock their busy center. Thank you to our friends who have partnered to bring in containers of aid to the nation of Israel! Every gift of every size plays a part in this rewarding work!
Special Word from the Chairman:
Shalom Friends. We are looking forward to what 2017 will bring for Israel and how Israel Relief Aid can help. We count on your support in prayer and finances for distributions of aid to the poor and needy in Israel. Your donations are 100% tax deductible, go to the program you designate and to improving the lives of Israelis. We are grateful for your partnership and wish you a rewarding year!
