2022: Post-COVID Escalation of Need in Israel

We recently had an important conversation with Shmuel, the manager of the Bat Yam Aid Center, about the need in Israel. Shmuel spoke about those who regularly come into his aid center: pensioners, families with low monthly income, sickness or disability, Holocaust Survivors, and Russian/Ukraine immigrants/refugees

When an immigrant comes in from Russia/Ukraine areas, they do not speak Hebrew. By showing their passport, they are able to be identified and helped.

When Israel was in lockdown during COVID, Shmuel delivered bags to their apartments, so was able to personally witness the living conditions of the families he served.

Now some pensioners are getting along in age to where they are not able to come to the center in person. Instead, they send their care person to collect a bag of food or whatever useful item has come into the aid center.

Shmuel relayed that he sees a worsening of need in this past year, post COVID.

With the enormous influx of over 60,000 immigrants this year to this tiny country, Israel Relief Aid is greatly needed - and depended upon - to bring substantial relief to Israeli individuals and families in need.
