Passover begins April 22nd this year. For the obvious reasons, holidays this year are taking on an unprecedented level of significance. We are a nation at war and in mourning every day since Oct 7th.
It is crucial for all of us to partake in the Holy Days to try to stabilize. Many are in difficult positions this year. Most of the food for the entire holiday is purchased in advance. The special food needs to be purchased (in bulk at special warehouse prices). There is a team of volunteers who will make an assembly line to pack the bags.
Yet this is not the case for Israelis living in poverty.
Since it is forbidden to eat bread and leavened food, matzo must be purchased in advance.
This is where Israel Relief Aid’s Passover food bags come to save the day. Every year in Bat Yam, just south of Tel Aviv, a large distribution of Passover food bags will be made to Holocaust Survivors and those already verified to be living under the poverty line.
Along with the Passover bags or boxes, a box of matzoh will be added. Special distribution days will be made for these welfare-roll families to come and collect.
You are invited to join in to this Passover project for Israelis who cannot make ends meet. You will be a lifesaver! DONATE TODAY
