In the heart of Beer Sheva in Israel’s desert – the Negev – is an aid center and soup kitchen feeding the elderly and Holocaust Survivors on a weekly basis.
Sitting in an apartment most of the time, this event
provides a social atmosphere for these elderly, who get not only to talk with
each other, but also listen to the weekly speaker at the luncheon.
After eating their fill of nutritious soup and full hot meal, they are usually given a food bag as well and a chance to select any needed clothing at the aid center’s clothing racks.
It’s a time of blessing for these ones who are scraping by on their monthly government stipend.
Israel Relief Aid is happy to have this aid center in our
network to receive from aid containers imported into Israel.
