Happy Birthday Israel!

As Israel turns 78, we observe Yom HaZikaron (Heroes Memorial Day) and Yom HaAtzmaut (Israel's Independence Day) to honor those lost in the fight for freedom and to celebrate the independence they secured.

The consecutive timing of these holidays serves as a poignant reminder of the high cost of statehood.

Today, Israel’s population has grown twelve-fold since its founding to 10.244 million—comprising 76% Jews and others and 21.1% Arabs. Over the past year, the nation welcomed 177,000 births and 21,000 immigrants.

These holidays allow us to remember our deep connection to the land of Israel, its culture, and its heritage, and to connect together as an international people with shared roots.

This unity strengthens our belief in our common future and mutual responsibility to be a part of Israel, as all of us collectively remember and never forget what has brought us to these days, and what will bring us out.
