Take Up Your Cross

A Monday morning, rushing to get to our respective jobs or, for the "retired", first focus is comfort and enjoyment possibly our gardens or a leisurely breakfast. Some folks are sitting down to their computers and turning on their AI programs and making cute videos. What horrendous madness this world is!

None of these is taking up our cross and bearing it daily. Under no circumstances are we called to retire nor make our careers our focus. We don't have the leisurely time to invest in making cute social media posts.

If we truly thought about what Yeshua/Jesus did for us, we would be appalled at our behavior... none of us excluded.

We have much work to do on His behalf. So many lost. So many walking in utter spiritual blindness, including the body of believers.

The simplest act of starting the day with nothing but having a conversation with the One who sacrificed everything for us is the least we can do. Spend time at the start of the day confessing that we have not put His will first, confessing that we have been judgmental and critical of those that are asleep in the spirit, confessing that we have spent time pulling down the lost by speaking negative words over them (simply causing more bondage to them), acting as if we're holier than the them because we've got something better and we believe something that they don't, confessing we are riddled and overflowing with sin and asking for forgiveness, renouncing and refocusing... That would be a better way to start the day.

We are called to nothing short of giving our all for the One who gives us His all and not to sit in judgment of others, pull others down, speak negatively about them... But rather to pray for them, lift them up in the spirit, pray for their salvation, be a witness and a light and walk in His. How can we be a light when we're not focused on being one, but rather focused on our microcosm?

We can't. "And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." Luke 14:27
