  On this somber 25th anniversary of 9/11 and every morning, I watch the shocking news reports, and it is painful and can cause emotional numbness. But dear friends, l realize we must not, cannot, allow ourselves to slip into a state of apathy. Over the past year, we have received newsletters from our CEO in Israel, Jo Kaplan.  I often find myself thinking: "Our Israel Relief Aid friends (all of you) are such an example of a people who do not live in apathy. How wonderful is your help this past year, which has made such a meaningful difference for the most vulnerable sectors of society in Israel!" As we approach Erev Rosh Hashanah at sunset, it will be the beginning of a new Hebrew year and a new year of opportunity. Shalom & Happy September! September marks the transition from the dry summer into the rainy season, a time when traditional readings and prayers in Israel look toward renewal and sustenance from God. Our New Holocaust Survivor Project has been a success so far. We're honored to be invited into the homes of survivors requesting our assistance, making their living quarters more safe, comfortable, and efficient .  What a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with them and uplift their spirits. Klara Doshlov was born in October 1941 to a family that had been evacuated from the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine to the Kuibyshev region of Russia, in the Volga area, as they fled Nazi occupation. During the war, Klara lived in evacuation with her mother and brother until 1944. READ MORE

Israel Relief Aid’s project of helping Holocaust Survivors in Need with repairs or lack of needed appliances continues.  Here’s the next Survivor that we helped. Genrikh Sirovaiski was born in 1935 in Vitebsk, Belorus and is 91 years old .  When World War II began, he was living in Lithuania with his family.  His father was Russian and died in WWII. This year again, children were chosen from families unable to provide school supplies for September 1 start of the school year.    Gift cards were pre-purchased from a major school-supply chain so that they could shop according to the list from the teachers.   Read more

Israel Relief Aid has now helped another Holocaust Survivor, Marina Sebastyanova. Marina is 89 years old. As a child, she survived the siege of Leningrad during World War II.

For Holocaust Survivors living under the poverty line, sometimes their living environment is going downhill.  Help with problems or lack of items in the apartment would be a huge blessing to their everyday life.

Recently we have provided groceries and encouragement to a woman facing overwhelming hardship . . . and ministry among senior citizens that we have had the privilege to serve.    READ MORE

The spirits of offense and resentment are two that can easily take root in ground that has already been established with the spirit of insecurity. All seemingly little foxes that can wreak enormous damage to our spiritual walk and witness. Eradicate and obliterate these invasives thru taking a deep-diving personal inventory followed by confession, renouncing, binding up and casting out in Yeshua's Name! How can you say, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye', when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye?" Luke 6:42

A Monday morning, rushing to get to our respective jobs or, for the "retired", first focus is comfort and enjoyment possibly our gardens or a leisurely breakfast. Some folks are sitting down to their computers and turning on their AI programs and making cute videos. What horrendous madness this world is! None of these is taking up our cross and bearing it daily. Under no circumstances are we called to retire nor make our careers our focus. We don't have the leisurely time to invest in making cute social media posts. If we truly thought about what Yeshua/Jesus did for us, we would be appalled at our behavior... none of us excluded. We have much work to do on His behalf. So many lost. So many walking in utter spiritual blindness, including the body of believers. The simplest act of starting the day with nothing but having a conversation with the One who sacrificed everything for us is the least we can do. Spend time at the start of the day confessing that we have not put ...

As Israel turns 78, we observe Yom HaZikaron (Heroes Memorial Day) and Yom HaAtzmaut (Israel's Independence Day) to honor those lost in the fight for freedom and to celebrate the independence they secured. 

We spend our days, sunrise to sundown, focused on all that we have, all that we do, all those we love, all things we want.  And what if we had none of those things? Would we become angry at G-D?  Job's experience could happen to any of us at any time.  Holding fast to all that we think we have here, and making it a daily priority, makes it clear that we do not put our love for our Creator first.  He wants the best of our offerings, yet we give Him our attention after we've attended to everything else (see Malachi 1). What if everything we had was completely stripped from us? What if our homes, our closet full of clothes and shoes, all of our family members, our careers, our health, literally everything was gone...what then? Choose this day who you will serve. Choose wisely. Store up your riches in heaven. Everything here will pass away.
